Breastfeeding Support Physiotherapy

Coming home with a new baby, there are so many things that shift and change your day-to-day routine. Whether it is your first, or fourth, the family dynamic shifts yet again to make room for your new little one, and you’re back to feeding every 2-3 hours around the clock.

There are so many aspects of new parenthood that can be overwhelming, and breastfeeding shouldn’t be one of them. Yet, so many moms feel overwhelmed, frustrated and don’t know where to find support in a timely manner. It feels like so many things have to happen for breastfeeding to work – and you would be right!

Potential breastfeeding issues

Latching and feeding can be made much more difficult if your baby is born with torticollis – which presents as neck and possible jaw tightness, or if they have a substantial tongue tie.

Perhaps you have a fast let down and your baby struggles to stay latched and you don’t know what positions are best.

Or maybe your baby had to spend time in the NICU, and after bottle-feeding they are struggling to latch when they come home.

There are many potential causes of breastfeeding difficulties, but at REP Physio, our expert staff are trained to teach techniques and provide solutions that will make breastfeeding less difficult.

Kennedy is a mom who had a terribly difficult feeding journey with her daughter and felt like she didn’t have the resources or know where to turn to get their problems addressed in a timely manner. She ended up ending her breastfeeding journey prematurely and wants to help empower moms to the best of her ability to prevent that exact scenario for others.
